The ACO appoints Bruno Famin as Deputy Director in charge of Competition

The Automobile Club de l’Ouest (ACO) is taking a new step forward in its strategic development with the appointment of Bruno Famin as Deputy Director in charge of Competition from Tuesday 24 March.

An engineer by training with extensive experience across the motorsport ecosystem, Bruno Famin will be responsible for overseeing the implementation of the ACO’s roadmap across all technical and sporting areas.

His technical insight and in-depth knowledge of the sector will be decisive assets in supporting automotive manufacturers as closely as possible. In particular, he will be involved in key performance-related matters and will actively contribute, in close collaboration with the FIA, to the development of future technical and sporting regulations, thereby helping to ensure fairness and the continued appeal of the grids.

Through this strategic appointment, the ACO is reaffirming its primary ambition: to build and promote increasingly attractive competition, firmly focused on innovation and fully aligned with the major challenges of the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC), as well as the ACO’s other championships.

Pierre Fillon, President of the Automobile Club de l’Ouest, said: “It is with great pleasure that I welcome Bruno Famin to the Automobile Club de l’Ouest. His arrival marks an important milestone for our institution. With a distinguished career and a strategic vision for top-level motorsport, Bruno Famin has demonstrated his excellence through key positions, whether as head of Peugeot Sport, within the FIA or, more recently, as Director of F1 and Endurance programmes at Alpine. Thanks to his technical expertise, he will undoubtedly bring valuable know-how to our technical and sporting department, further strengthening the influence and high standards of our competitions on the international stage.”
