Some stunnning cars on the Classic Grand Tour

Organised in partnership with the Automobile Club de l'Ouest and the Département de la Sarthe, the third Classic Grand Tour will be held from 8-10 June in the grounds of Le Mans Country Club château.

The Classic Grand Tour was created as a tribute to the first motor race to take part in La Sarthe in 1906. “We follow the traces of that event, which covered 105 km on closed roads between Le Mans, Saint-Calais and La Ferté Bernard ,” explains Philippe Pasteau, the Tour’s organiser.

Held in partnership with the ACO and the Département de la Sarthe, the third such event will run from 8-10 June. Friday, fifty or  so classic cars – which have already been selected – will gather in the grounds of Le Mans Country Club. 24 Hours of Le Mans official commentator, Bruno Vandestick will be there to present the vehicles.

Things get a bit more serious on Saturday when the Tour d’élégance by Chopard sets off at 9am for a tour of La Sarthe countryside. “Participants will get a glimpse of the castles of Pescheray, Courtanvaux and Montmirail,” Philippe Pasteau continues. At the end of the day, there will be a series of events to mark Porsche’s 70th anniversary, the golden age of coachbuilding, and more!

On Sunday, participants will set off on an escapade to La Chartre-sur-le-Loir. The cars will remain on display in the château grounds in the afternoon.

From 8-10 June, Le Mans Country Club in Yvré-l’Evêque. Free admission for ACO members on presentation of a valid membership card. Public admission price: €5. Appropriate dress required.
