MissionH24 has kicked off its 2023 season

The 2023 season of the MissionH24 programme, a collaboration between the Automobile Club de l'Ouest and GreenGT to promote hydrogen in competition, got underway at the 24 Hours Virtual this past weekend. Serving as leading car, the first electric-hydrogen prototype, called LMPH2G, ushered competitors into a very exciting race. What a way for MissionH24 to start off the year!

Some of the world's top professional drivers and simracers competed in the 24 Hours Virtual, finale of the 2022-2023 Le Mans Virtual Series, on Sunday 15 January. It was an event in which the MissionH24 competition programme for sustainable mobility was keen to take part.

Shortly before 14:00 French time on 14 January, the LMPH2G electric-hydrogen prototype released 45 driver line-ups (180 competitors representing 41 countries) with Porsche Coanda on the front row followed by Team Redline on the second.

The action proved intense and unpredictable throughout the 24-hour race with the LMPH2G retaking the track during race neutralisations. Competitors and viewers then had a few moments to learn about hydrogen competition, a strategy of the Automobile Club de l'Ouest in collaboration with GreenGT aimed at the creation of a class dedicated to hydrogen prototypes for the 2025 24 Hours. At a time when fossil fuels need to be replaced, many manufacturers are highly interested in and working on hydrogen mobility solutions.

Through MissionH24 and its involvement in the 24 Hours Virtual, the Automobile Club de l'Ouest and GreenGT hope to share and publicise their efforts and support in favour of progressive energy transition.

The top step on the podium at the 3rd 24 Hours Virtual was claimed by Team Redline's #2 ORECA 07 shared by Felipe Drugovich, Felix Rosenqvist, Luke Bennett and Chris Lulham.
