Collectors' running tests resume September 19th

The Club has prepared a fantastic return for ACO members: 120 spots for collection and unique cars, driven by ACO members with or without a passenger, a lunch for sporting collectors and four 20-minute sessions at the legendary Bugatti circuit.

On September 19th, the ACO Club will host, in collaboration with the ACO Departmental Commission of La Sarthe, the second day of running tests of 2016. This will be the 14th edition of these running tests which are highly coveted by ACO member collectors. Here's why:

A full day's access to the Bugatti circuit and its infrastructure is available to you. All track and pit lane safety of the 24 Hours of Le Mans is made available to you, and a passenger if you so choose, and your vehicle.

The welcoming of participants begins at 8:00 a.m. outside the pit building where drivers and passengers take part in an orientation. The first start, by field, will happen at 9:00 a.m., once the Safety Briefing has been given to all participants.

From 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., the various fields of vehicles ranked by weight and power will take turns on the track in 20-minute sessions on the 4.185 kilometers of the famous Bugatti circuit.

Driving your car at the Bugatti circuit

Enjoy the adrenaline rush as you go down pit lane before hitting the legendary track - passing under the renowned Dunlop bridge, the descent down to the Chapelle turn, reaccelerating toward the parable of the Musée corner before heading to the double-right of the Green Garage and the East end of the 24 Hours circuit.

The long straight of the Green Garage then goes into the Esse of the Chemin aux Bœufs, the name of the former road joining the Bugatti circuit. There, humanity's first wheels rolled thousands of years ago. Then back to modern day with a short straight toward the Blue Esses and the entrance to pit lane, right before the connecting double right. Coming out of this double-right, the majestic view on the grandstands straight opens itself.

Three highlights

After the two morning sessions, one of the highlights of the day, you can go enjoy the view from the fourth floor of the sporting unit where will take place the collectors' lunch. It is a friendly time in a prestigious setting before taking the track again for two new sessions.

The vehicles admitted to the Collectors' Running Tests will do so in at most four groups, etablished by the organization according to compatibility, similarity and safety criteria. Each group's running time will be four times 20 minutes maximum for the day (subject to track availability and adherence to the times authorized for the day).

The Collectors' Running Tests at the Bugatti circuit are exclusively reserved for ACO members and the only vehicles authorized are automobiles released prior to January 1, 1985, or unique vehicles subject to approval by the ACO. Convertible cars must be equipped with safety roll bars compliant to constructor standards and must be driven with the top down on the circuit.

A maximum of 120 collection and unique vehicles are expected on a first-come, first-serve basis!

Day Rate: 105€ per car

Collectors' Lunch: 25€ per person
