CLUB ACO - Artworks created for the two Art Cars on show at La Chapelle venue

On Friday morning, the artworks created by Laurent Minguet were officially unveiled at the La Chapelle members’ facility. The painter has offered one of the pieces to Club ACO.

Earlier in 2021, Olivier Panis and his partners Sarah and Simon Abadie set French artist Laurent Minguet the challenge of designing two Art Cars for this year’s 24 Hours of Le Mans. “You simply can’t turn down an offer like that!”, said Minguet at the unveiling of the Art Car paintings at the La Chapelle venue this Friday (20 August). Minguet developed his concept based on an overhead view of the Oreca 07-Gibson and subsequently brought his designs to life in the form of two original paintings.

24 reproductions to go on sale in aid of Mécénat Chirurgie Cardiaque

The artist took a set of wooden and marble panels to which he applied his streaks of paint. Once he had completed these artworks, “we finished the liveries of the Orecas”. Those streaks of paints were thus reproduced randomly and asymmetrically on the cars’ bodywork, emphasizing the impression of speed. The two works exhibited are the original paintings. They will remain on show in the ACO Members’ facility throughout the event. “We are donating the Panis Racing painting to Club ACO!”, announced Olivier Panis.

Twenty-four reproductions are to go on sale in the official 24 Hours of Le Mans store, with the proceeds going to charity Mécénat Chirurgie Cardiaque which provides heart surgery for children from developing countries.
