The fifth round of the 2014 FIA World Endurance Championship, of which the ACO is the promoter and organiser, will take place at Fuji at the foot of the famous mountain of the same name. Porsche is waiting in ambush to try and score its first victory. OAK Racing will make its return to the LM P2 category currently led by SMP Racing. In GTE Pro the battle will rage between Ferrari in the lead, Porsche and Aston Martin, while in GTE Am Aston Martin is in first place.
The Fuji 6 Hours will start on Sunday 12th October at 11h00 local time (04h00 in France). The race can be followed on tablets or Smartphones via the WEC Application available on AppStore or Google Play. Information on www.fiawec.com.
On the same weekend the third of the five rounds of the 2014 Asian Le Mans Series Championship will be held on the Shanghai International circuit. After two races OAK Racing Team Total, Craft Bamboo Racing, Team AAI and The Emperor Racing lead the LM P2, CN, GT and GTE Am categories. The start of the Chinese round of the latest Le Mans-type endurance championship will be given at 15h00 local time (09h00 in France) on Saturday 11th October. Pierre Fillon, President of the Automobile Club de l’Ouest: “These numerous events organised in three countries on two continents show the full scope of the ACO’s and its branches’ know-how. Very few clubs are capable of putting on as many races in such far-flung places with such different vehicles - trucks and cars. This type of organisation has been made possible thanks to the skills of the ACO’s teams, their partners and also the many faithful volunteers for the pleasure of the tens of thousands of spectators in China, Japan and in France who will be at our side. It’s for them that the ACO multiplies its efforts.”
