2015 24 Hours of Le Mans concerts - Jabberwocky, Cali and Charlie Winston top the bill!

The open-air concerts are a key ingredient of the Le Mans 24 Hours (13-14 June). Three exceptional RTL2, Pop-Rock Live concerts will be put on for spectators* and topping the bill are Jabberwocky, Cali and British prodigy, Charlie Winston who will follow one another on stage to fever up the ambience inside the circuit. This top-quality programme has been concocted in partnership with RTL2, and it will result in five groups and DJs following one another on stage on Saturday evening! And a major innovation in 2015: Friday evening will also be devoted to music!

Every year the Le Mans 24-Hours race creates a sensation by organising three evenings’ eagerly-awaited concerts. The two practice evenings will rock to Jabberwocky’s electro-pop and Cali’s mind-boggling energy on stage. On race day, Saturday, Charlie Winston will take over the stage at the Le Mans 24 Hours. The singer of the hit Like a Hobo will set the inside of the circuit reverberating to his rock, folk and soul songs.

Counting all these artists, the warm-up acts and DJs who will complete Saturday night’s entertainment, some nine groups will appear on the stage beside the Dunlop Footbridge.

Here are the details of the programme:

The Lemon Queen
This foursome from Angers overturns all the rules of time and mixes up with contagious joy the influences of the inexhaustible New Wave and FM Rock - as nostalgic as it’s heroic - with exciting electro sounds. With its anachronistic and clever production, its catchy tunes and its boundless energy, The Lemon Queen’s feel-good cocktail is a great mood booster.

Jabberwocky
This electro-pop group was formed in 2013 by three medical students from Poitiers. Jabberwocky likes to highlight female vocals and it emerged from obscurity with its first hit, Photomaton.
Behind a softly, softly approach Jabberwocky’s power rumbles in the background like a marriage in great pomp between relentless beat and organic piano rhythms. A kind of nocturnal intimation emanates that infuses the music with a note that’s both joyful and melancholic at the same time.
Jabberwocky emerges from its lair to make us dream!

The group’s natural style, energy and amazing dynamism entice the crowd into sharing festive and warm moments. Their songs dealing with today’s news that are a tad provocative and reflect current youth’s preoccupations: they have earned Ton Zinc the reputation of being a committed group.
The launch of their first entirely self-produced album, Philosophie de Comptoir, is a statement of their approach as untrammelled artists, a founding principle of the group.

He is really in his element on stage and exudes boundless energy and intensity making his concerts memorable ones that the crowd won’t forget.
Cali isn’t afraid of anything and he dares everything; that’s his trademark!
With his gravelly voice he is the flag bearer of proud and sentimental rock mixing catchy and asymmetric tunes, and he has fixed a rendezvous with his fans to sing his latest songs – a not-to-be-missed event.
