The Champagne region is home to a vintage car show, the 48 Heures de l’Automobile Ancienne

First held in 1986, the annual event attracts a throng of car and bike enthusiasts from across Europe. This year, the ACO will be represented by a local committee.

One of the weekend’s highlights promises to be the rally through the medieval city of Troyes and the Aube countryside organised by the Kiwani Club de Troyes and the Rétro Club Automobile de Champagne.

The friendly event always contributes to a fundraising effort and this year the proceeds of the tombola, the prize of which is a vintage car, will go to charities for child protection.

Rendezvous on Sunday 11 September at Boulevard Gambetta in Troyes.

Sunday’s programme:

9am Mini rally around Troyes departs from the chapel of St Luc

10am-6pm Exhibition, walks, rides etc.

2.30pm Parade on the Gambetta circuit with musical accompaniment
