WEC - Video preview of the 6 Hours of Shanghai

Toyota won the 6 Hours of Fuji in a one-two finish on home ground this weekend. In a month’s time, it will be China’s turn to host a round of the World Endurance Championship (WEC).

There are now thirteen points between the two Toyota Gazoo Racing crews, with #8 drivers Kazuki Nakajima, Sébastien Buemi and Fernando Alonso leading. The #3 Rebellion R13-Gibson (Thomas Laurent, Gustavo Menezes and Mathias Beche) is still in the running despite having to retire this weekend.

In LMP2, a spectacular battle is unfolding: the #36 Alpine A470-Gibson and the two Jackie Chan DC Racing Oreca 07-Gibsons are within a point of each other. Shanghai is sure to be the scene of much nail biting.

This weekend’s victory puts Kévin Estre and Michael Christensen in a dominant position in LMGTE Pro, 35 points ahead of Porsche, which has a comfortable lead over Ford. This year’s 24 Hours of Le Mans LMGTE Am winners, Christian Ried, Matt Campbell and Julien Andlauer conceded ground to Jörg Bergmeister, Patrick Lindsey ad Egidio Perfetti who won the 6 Hours of Fuji (Team Project 1 Porsche 911 RSR).
