WEC and Le Mans - Buy your own set of Aston Martin wings!

Aston Martin fans can now get their hands on a set of nine badges sported by the official Vantage racing cars, one for each round of the 2016 World Endurance Championship (WEC) season.

The Aston Martin Vantages competing in the LM GTE Pro and LM GTE Am classes have displayed a different badge at each race since the start of this year’s championship, the winged logo’s colour scheme designed to match the race nation’s flag. The bespoke emblems have been produced and hand-painted by Birmingham-based jewellery house Vaughtons, founded in 1819 and specialised in handmade insignia. Each “pair of wings” requires no less than 20 hours work, involving the latest technologies combined with traditional craftsmanship.

The colours of the nine badges are inspired by the flags of the WEC race host countries: the United Kingdom (Silverstone), Belgium (Spa-Francorchamps), France (24 Hours of Le Mans), Germany (Nürburgring), Mexico (Mexico City), the United States (Austin, Circuit of the Americas), Japan (Fuji), China (Shanghai) and Bahrain.

As we go into the final round, Nicki Thiim and Marco Sørensen sit 12 points clear at the top of the rankings for the FIA World Endurance Cup for GT Drivers. Meanwhile, in the Endurance Trophy for LM GTE Pro teams, Aston Martin Racing is just two points ahead of Ford and in the FIA World Endurance Cup for GT Manufacturers, Aston Martin is ten points behind Ferrari.

The badge collection is limited to 250 sets and can be purchased from Aston Martin’s website for £3,750 (€4,350). An idea for your Christmas list?
