WEC - 6 Hours of Mexico on social media

This weekend saw the very first 6 Hours of Mexico. Porsche took the top prize, followed by Audi and Toyota. Drivers gave fans a glimpse of what went on behind the scenes during the action-packed weekend.

Larbre Compétition ready to roll! With their magnificent masks, Yutaka Yamagishi, Pierre Ragues and Ricky Taylor were all set to shine in LM GTE Am, but the race didn’t go as planned. Yamagishi went off in the closing stages, depriving the Corvette of the chequered flag.

Aston Martin Racing won LM GTE Pro with Richie Stanaway and Darren Turner at the wheel of the #97 V8 Vantage. It was a memorable race for the British marque’s drivers, who sported sunny sombreros with great panache.

Alpine was knocked off its perch in Mexico. Menezes, Lapierre and Richelmi took second place for the French team. The winners of LM P2 at Le Mans enjoyed the local thirst quencher, as shown on Twitter.Which Porsche drivers are behind these masks? Romain Dumas, Marc Lieb and Neel Jani, the winners of this year’s Le Mans 24 Hours.

LM P1 driver Oliver James Webb of Bykolles Racing published video footage filmed at the track and on the streets of Mexico City.

The Audi drivers celebrated being in Mexico too. Here, the drivers of the #7 Audi R18, Marcel Fässler, André Lotterer and Benoît Tréluyer. The latter sat out this round, preferring to wait until he was 100% recovered from his back injury sustained this summer.
