Toyota's sole goal: win the 24 Hours of Le Mans (video)!

The upcoming 2018-2019 Super Season of the World Endurance Championship (FIA WEC) will offer not one but two opportunities for Toyota to make its long-standing dream of winning the 24 Hours of Le Mans a reality.

In 2016, Toyota was close...so close...to carrying off the coup. Only one short lap remained for the Japanese manufacturer to win the 24 Hours of Le Mans, but sometimes the legendary race can be cruel: not only did the Toyota TS050 Hybrid not win, but it also went unranked after failing to cover the last lap within the time frame allotted by the regulations.

This year, Toyota is making every possible effort to add to its win record THE biggest endurance race in the world, thereby becoming (after Mazda) the second Japanese marque ever to win the coveted trophy: first with an extraordinary level of preparation to minimize the trappings of the race and their consequences, and second with the arrival of two-time F1 World Champion Fernando Alonso whose drive to win is unimpeachable…
