Test Day for the 86th edition of the 24 Hours of Le Mans is mandatory for all teams and is reserved solely for their participation. However, some experienced pilots, an exhaustive list of which is published, are exempted, while others such as rookies, are required to attend after having completed simulator training.
Prior to action starting on the track at the 24 Hours circuit, the marshals of the Automobile Club de l'Ouest (organizer of the 24 Hours of Le Mans) and the FIA, as the race is a part of the World Endurance Championship (FIA WEC), confirm the cars are compliant with the technical regulations (technical checks) and that the drivers and their equipment respect the applicable rules in effect (administrative checks).
