The 2019 24 Hours of Le Mans for Risi Competizione (LMGTE Pro)

43 teams (fielding 61 cars) competed in the 87th 24 Hours of Le Mans, the Super Finale of the FIA WEC 2018-19 World Endurance Championship. There were winners, of course, but also mechanical glitches, track incidents and early retirements. Joy for some, disappointment for others... Here’s a summary of the 24 Hours of Le Mans for the Risi Competizione team, which ran in the LMP2 class.

Team: Risi Competizione

Class: LMGTE Pro

Car: Ferrari 488 GTE EVO

Drivers:

  • Pipo Derani (5th participation)
  • Oliver Jarvis (8th participation)
  • Jules Gounon (1st participation)

At the 2018 24 Hours of Le Mans, Risi Competizione ran Keating Motorsports' Ferrari 488. The American team returned this year with a driver line-up with an ideal mix of experience, speed and youth. The #89 Ferrari 488 GTE EVO qualified in 46th position with a time of 3:51.454 clocked by Oliver Jarvis during the third session. In the race, Giuseppe Risi's team lost 45 minutes in the garage with a mechanical problem. The #89 Ferrari finished in 40th place overall and 11th in the LMGTE Pro class. "This wasn't the result we were seeking earlier in the week, but at the same time you have to step back and be proud. The team did fantastic work and we took the car to the chequered flag. I hope to return next year with this team," said Oliver Jarvis.
