Though it was once common for drivers to go from one motorsports discipline to another, such versatile drivers are now an exception, but some are still continuing the tradition, like Romain Dumas and Stéphane Sarrazin. The two Frenchmen were at the start of the Tour of Corsica with their own teams last weekend and though neither clinched the overall win since they did not enter a car in the most powerful class, they both reached the podium in their class.
Stéphane Sarrazin, at his team's very first race, finished third of the R5 cars, ninth overall, and Romain Dumas won the RGT class with his Porsche, crossing the finish line at the final leg in 18th place overall.
Romain Dumas, whose Porsche 919 Hybrid won at the 2016 24 Hours of Le Mans and who was crowned World Endurance Champion along with Marc Lieb and Neel Jani last year, will be at the wheel of one of the two Alpine LM P2s at the 24 Hours in June. Stéphane Sarrazin will drive the third Toyota TS050 HYBRID entered by the Japanese manufacturer at Le Mans.
