Porsche rewarded at the Festival Automobile International for its 18 Le Mans victories

At the Festival Automobile International, which took place last week in Paris, Porsche was presented with the Jury Special Grand Prize for its 18 victories at the 24 Hours with in attendance six of the German manufacturer's former Le Mans winners.

Six winners with a total of eight Porsche victories between them were present for the German marque! Indeed, two of the drivers, Hans-Joachim Stuck and Gijs van Lennep, won twice at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. For the occasion, Porsche exhibited two of the winning cars: the #23 Porsche 917 K N from 1970, which gave the German manufacturer its very first victory at Le Mans with at the wheel Hans Herrmann, and the Porsche 919 Hybrid with which Romain Dumas won in 2016.

On the stage to accept the award, Porsche European Regional Vice-President Felix Bräutigam was joined by Hans-Joachim Stuck, Gijs van Lennep, Hans Herrmann, Romain Dumas, Stéphane Ortelli and Yannick Dalmas. The men all posed for a group photo with the 917 from 1970 that marked the beginning of Porsche's great adventure at the 24 Hours of Le Mans and for which the marque was awarded the prestigious prize.
