Nick Tandy (#91 Porsche), Oliver Gavin's biggest fan (#64 Corvette)

Felmersham, a little village in Bedfordshire (UK) happens to be the birthplace of two winners at the 24 Hours of Le Mans 2015: Nick Tandy, Porsche factory driver and member of the overall winning crew and Oliver Gavin, who won LM GTE Pro with Corvette.

Early on in his professional career, Olivier Gavin, who has five Le Mans class wins to his name, went back to his school in Felmersham to talk to the pupils about his job. One of those pupils was Nick Tandy, who kept the signed poster of Gavin on his bedroom wall for the next ten years.

The young fan followed in his idol’s footsteps in endurance racing and this year they are even direct opponents in LM GTE Pro: Gavin is still with Corvette Racing in the #64 C7.R while Tandy is in the #91 Porsche 911 RSR. Last year, after their success at Le Mans they returned to talk to the pupils of their home village. Watch out for future Le Mans winners from Felmersham...
