Ligier European Series – New provisional calendar

As a result of the global Covid-19 health crisis, the Ligier European Series has made some adjustments to its calendar, but the programme still includes five races and the same circuits.

The season should kick off on 17-18 July in France at Le Castellet on the date initially earmarked for that track, if health conditions and government regulations allow. Then the series plans to head to Belgium to the legendary Spa-Francorchamps circuit for the second round on 7-8 August, to the circuit outside of Barcelona, Spain on 27-29 August for the third race, and to Monza, Italy and the "Temple of Speed" on 9-10 October. The season will end under the sun at the Portimão circuit in Portugal on 30-31 October.

Jacques Nicolet, President of Ligier Automotive: "We are facing an unprecedented situation. The utmost priority is the safety and well-being of all. We must be united to fight this pandemic and work as of today to prepare the relaunch of motorsport in the best possible conditions. It was important for the series and the teams to maintain five rounds to the 2020 calendar and to keep the same circuits. We thank the European Le Mans Series’ organising teams for having succeeded in rescheduling a high-quality calendar in this exceptional situation. While we wait for the start of the season, take care of yourself and your loved ones. Rendez-vous in July!"
