Le Mans Esports Series – A recap before the 2020 season

Season 2 of the Le Mans Esports Series is set to kick off at the Autosport International Show on 9-12 January in Birmingham, England. Here is a look back at qualifying for the Super Finale this past June during the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

From 13-22 December 2019, the second Le Mans Esports Series qualifying round in "Rivals" mode in Forza Motorsport 7 was open to all and presented a huge challenge: to clock the fastest time at the wheel of a Ferrari 458 GTE at the Road Atlanta circuit. Three drivers went on to earn their invitations to the season Super Finale.

- In the Europe and Middle East zones, JSR Type Ry proved quickest with a time of 1:18.117, only two-tenths of a second faster than another Japspeed Racing team member, JSR Hydra.

·- For the America zone, FRF Solo kiNg clocked the best time of 1:18.084. Luis Felipe de Melo already participated in last year's Super Finale and will return to Le Mans in June.

- For the Asia zone, 22-year-old Australian gamer LSEM SirLagALot dominated the classification with a time of 1:18.210, becoming Light Speed Esports' second driver to qualify this season. 

The three drivers have joined LSEM Fenrir, RZM Vettel and FcT DjokeR who qualified during the first round in November with the Porsche 919 Hybrid at the Circuit de la Sarthe in Le Mans.

The next race of the Le Mans Esports Series, the third qualifying round, is scheduled during the Autosport International Show in Birmingham, England this week.
