Last-minute changes to the 24 Hours of Le Mans starting grid

Several competitors will be required to set off from the back of the field after breaching the specific regulations for this, the 84th running of the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

Firstly, Antonio Garcia (#63 Chevrolet Corvette C7.R for Corvette Racing - LM GTE Pro), Maurizio Mediani (#27 BR 01 for SMP Racing - LM P2) and Simon Trummer (#4 CLM P1/01 for ByKolles Racing Team - LM P1) did not complete the mandatory five night-time laps during the qualifiers.

Secondly, Ed Brown (#30 Ligier JS P2 for Extreme Speed Motorsports - LM P2), Tracy Krohn (#40 Ligier JS P2 n°40 for Krohn Racing - LM P2), Erik Maris (#22 Ligier JS P2 for So24! by Lombard Racing - LM P2) and Rémy Striebig (#28 Morgan for Pegasus Racing - LM P2) did not reach a fast enough lap time during the qualifying session. Likewise, Simon Trummer but as he had not completed the required five laps either, he was already at the back of the pack.

Finally, Michael Shank Racing has changed its engine so the #49 Ligier JS P2 will be subject to a five-minute stop & go penalty during the first half of the race. Because the American team is competing in the WeatherTech SportsCar Championship, but not in the World Endurance Championship (WEC) or the European Le Mans Series, it was only permitted to use one engine throughout the event.
