Jenson Button will compete at the Circuit des 24 Heures du Mans for the first time in his career this July. Yes, July, but don't worry - there hasn't be a change to the dates of the 24 Hours of Le Mans! The Brit, who clinched the Formula One crown for Brawn GP Formula One Team in 2009, will be taking part in Le Mans Classic (6-8 July) with an entry in Group C.
The driver, who counts a total 15 F1 wins and is currently part of Honda’s Super GT driver line-up in Japan, will drive a 1988 Jaguar XJR-9 prototype similar to the car that Jan Lammers, Andy Wallace and Johnny Dumfries drove to victory at the 24 Hours of Le Mans after a spectacular showdown with the factory Porsche 962 Cs that year.
