IDEC Sport (Oreca) at the 2018 24 Hours of Le Mans [video]

At Le Mans for only the second time, IDEC Sport set the second-best LMP2 time on Test Day and topped the table after qualifying. In the race itself, the #48 Oreca 07-Gibson was among the class leaders but sadly did not finish.

This year IDEC Sport pulled out all the stops. Reigning and former European Le Mans Series champions Memo Rojas and Paul-Loup Chatin teamed up with Paul Lafargue and formed a crew to be contended with. Heading the outfit was 17-time Le Mans driver Nicolas Minassian who took over leadership this winter.

Paul-Loup Chatin booked the second best time in LMP2 on Test Day and went on to clinch the pole position with 3:24.842. In the race itself, the #48 Oreca 07-Gibson was among the class leaders and in the top ten overall. But it was not to be: 21 hours into the race a broken gearbox spelled retirement. Relive the race through the eyes of Memo Rojas.
