First round of the Asian Le Mans Cup with Jackie Chan DC Racing x Jota Sport (videos)

The first of four rounds of the 2017/2018 Asian Le Mans Series season took place in Zuhai, China a little less than two weeks ago. The Jackie Chan DC Racing x Jota Sport team won the race in LMP2. Here is a look back from the Chinese outfit's point of view.

The Jackie Chan DC Racing x Jota Sport team is fielding three cars in this season of the Asian Le Mans Series. The two ORECA 05-Nissan LMP2s are entrusted to David Cheng and Ho-Pin Tung (#7) and to Thomas Laurent, Stéphane Richelmi and Harrison Newey (#8), the son of famous Formula 1 engineer Adrian Newey. Harrison has just claimed the top step on the podium for his Endurance racing debut (read article) at the first round in Zuhai, China. The sister car was forced to retire with power steering problems.

An LMP3 (the #6 Ligier JS P3) also hit the track with Guy Cosmo and Patrick Byrne at the wheel. The driver line-up reached the third step on the podium at the kickoff of the season.

Teams that win in LMP2 and LMP3 will earn an automatic invitation to next year's 24 Hours of Le Mans!
