FIA WEC – the provisional entry list for the 2020 Lone Star Le Mans

The fifth round of the 2019-20 FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) season takes place on 22–23 February at the Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas. The provisional entry list has now been published. Two American teams will be joining the cars on the grid.

The FIA WEC World Endurance Championship is heading back to the Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas, a track that the competitors are familiar with, having visited five times in the last seven years. Thirty cars will line up to start the race:  three LMP1s, nine LMP2s, seven cars in the LMGTE Pro class and 11 in LMGTE Am.

In LMGTE Pro, the new Corvette C8.R will be making its FIA WEC début after finishing fourth in class at the 24 Hours of Daytona, the opening round of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship. It will run under #63 and be driven by Jan Magnussen and Mike Rockenfeller. Corvette Racing will make no doubt the most of the Lone Star Le Mans race to pursue development of its new car, with the chance to put it to the test against Porsche, Ferrari and Aston Martin.
Another American team, DragonSpeed will be fielding an ORECA 07-Gibson in the LMP2 class. Swedish driver Henrik Hedman will take to the wheel, sharing driving duties with Brit Ben Hanley and American Colin Braun.
