FIA WEC – The 2019-2020 season is off and running

Today, Sunday 1 September at noon local time, the Silverstone rounds kicks off the 2019-2020 season of the FIA World Endurance Championship.

For Season 8 of the FIA World Endurance Championship, one of several official photos was taken of the drivers and officials gathered at the traditional pre-race briefing. The start at the 4 Hours of Silverstone will be given today at noon local time to kick off the eight-round championship, with the 2020 24 Hours of Le Mans serving as the Super Finale on 13-14 June.

The Season 8 calendar is as follows: 4 Hours of Silverstone (1 September), 6 Hours of Fuji (6 October), 4 Hours of Shanghai (10 November), 8 Hours of Bahrain (14 December), 6 Hours of São Paulo (1 February), 1000 Miles of Sebring (20 March), Total 6 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps (25 April) and 24 Hours of Le Mans (13-14 June).  

Among the 2019-2020 season rookies figures Guy Smith (age 44), winner at the 2003 24 Hours of Le Mans with Bentley, competing in the LMP1 class with Team LNT at the wheel of a Ginetta G60-LT-P1-AER.
