FIA WEC – Provisional entry list released for the 1000 Miles of Sebring

The sixth round of the 2019-20 FIA World Endurance Championship season will be held from 18 to 20 March in Sebring. Thirty cars are all set to do battle at the Florida track.

The FIA World Endurance Championship is back at one of motorsport’s most iconic venues – Sebring! This is a sort of homecoming for the 2019-20 championship field as it was at this very same track that the inaugural FIA WEC race was run in 2012. A shade over six kilometres long, Sebring International Raceway is a former military airfield used by the United States Army Air Forces until the end of the Second World War. The concrete landing strips still form part of the racetrack today. Like the 24 Hours of Le Mans, Sebring is also famous for its party atmosphere at the circuit.

Thirty cars will line up for this year’s 1000 Miles of Sebring: five in LMP1, seven each in LMP2 and LMGTE Pro, and 11 in LMGTE Am. The LMP1 class will see the return of the two Ginetta G60-LT-P1 – AERs fielded by Team LNT. In LMGTE Pro, Corvette Racing will again run its new C8.R after its appearance at Lone Star Le Mans in Austin. It will take on the Porsche 911 RSR-19, the Ferrari 488 GTE EVO and the Aston Martin Vantage AMR.

Four American drivers are set to compete in their home race. They are Chris Dyson (Team LNT), Gustavo Menezes (Rebellion Racing), Mark Patterson (High Class Racing) and Ben Keating (Team Project 1). Côme Ledogar will replace Olivier Beretta in MR Racing’s #70 Ferrari 488 GTE EVO. The Frenchman took part in last year’s 24 Hours of Le Mans at the wheel of the #57 Ferrari 488 GTE entered by LMGTE Am outfit Car Guy Racing.

The race starts on Friday 20 March at 12:00 local time (UTC-5). The Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring Presented by Auto Parts, the second round of the 2020 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship 2020, will be held the following day.
