FIA WEC – 4 Hours of Silverstone: first pole position of the season for Toyota

The first qualifying of the 2019-2020 FIA World Endurance Championship season saw the Toyota clinch pole position at Silverstone thanks to Kamui Kobayashi.

Today at the 4 Hours of Silverstone, the first qualifying session of the 2019-2020 FIA World Endurance Championship season was dominated by the #7 Toyota driven by Conway-Kobayashi-Lopez, with an average time of 1:36.015, and the best lap clocked by Kamui Kobayashi in 1:35.992 at an average 221.3 kph. The performance, even faster than last year's, can be explained in part by the resurfacing of the track at Silverstone, but Kobayashi is also is also a regular at speed exercises. This past June at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, he clocked the fastest time in qualifying (3:15.497).

The start at the FIA WEC 4 Hours of Silverstone will be given tomorrow, Sunday, at noon local time.
