FIA WEC – 2019-20 regulations amended

In addition to adopting regulations governing the new top class for 2020-25, the FIA World Motor Sport Council rubber-stamped a few changes to the sporting regulations for the 2019-20 FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) season including, of course, the 2020 24 Hours of Le Mans.

Meeting in St Petersburg, the World Motor Sport Council has announced that it has amended some of the FIA World Endurance Championship sporting regulations for the 2019-20 season.

These include a revised pit stop procedure. From next season, tyres will no longer be changed during refuelling operations. Meanwhile, the LMGTE Am class will see a “success ballast” system introduced. This means that some cars will be given extra weight to carry based on previous race results and championship positions.
