The countdown has begun! In just 100 days, the cars will hit the track at the 1,000 Miles of Sebring, sixth round of the World Endurance Championship (FIA WEC). American fans are gearing up for one of the biggest weekends in endurance racing in the U.S. with the Mobil 1 12 Hours of Sebring Presented by Auto Parts - second round of the 2019 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship - the next day.

The 1,000 Miles of Sebring (approximately eight hours of racing) is already looking highly competitive in all four championship classes, a perfect recipe for a thrilling round. In LMP1, the Equivalence of Technology between the hybrid and non-hybrid prototypes has leveled the playing field in terms of performance. In the LMP2 class, Chinese team Jackie Chan DC Racing (#38 ORECA 07-Gibson) has racked up victories (three this season), but boasts just a 10-point lead in the provisional standings over Signatech Alpine Matmut. The battle between Porsche, Ford, Ferrari, Aston Martin and BMW will resume in LMGTE Pro. Though Porsche seems to have taken a slight advantage, Ford should prove extra motivated to pull off a win at home. Lastly, in the LMGTE Am class, German outfit Team Project 1 has snatched the lead in the provisional classification thanks to three consecutive podium finishes. But the team is facing an uphill battle against Aston Martin Racing's #98 and TF Sport's #90 Aston Martin Vantages.

The teams will take part in an official testing day before the race to take their marks at the challenging Sebring circuit (originally an airfield). The round is the only opportunity to see LMP1 prototypes compete on American soil in 2019, and fans can't wait! It's also a sort of homecoming for the World Endurance Championship (FIA WEC) since the very first race in the championship took place at Sebring in 2012, the year of its inception.
