In Portugal this weekend at the 4 Hours of Portimão, six automatic invitations to the 2020 24 Hours of Le Mans (13-14 June) were earned:
- two in LMP2 (1st and 2nd places)
- one in LMP3 (1st place)
- two in LMGTE (1st and 2nd places)
- one in the Michelin Le Mans Cup for 1st place in GT3
IDEC SPORT Racing's #28, G-Drive Racing's #26, Eurointernational #11 (provisional result), Luzich Racing's #51, Dempsey-Proton Racing's #77 and Kessel Racing's #8 secured their invitations to the 2020 24 Hours of Le Mans, the start of which will be given on 13 June at 16:00 local time.
In the Michelin Le Mans Cup, the DKR Engineering team's driver line-up who placed third at the Portimão round won the 2019 LMP3 champion title. Sergio Pianezzola and Giacomo Piccini claimed the top step on the GT3 podium at the race, and won their second Michelin Le Mans Cup title with Kessel Racing's #8 Ferrari.
The 2019 ELMS champion is IDEC SPORT Racing's #28 ORECA 07-Gibson of trio Chatin-Rojas-Lafargue.
