ELMS - IDEC Sport (Oreca) scores pole position at the 4 Hours of Le Castellet

Paul Loup Chatin (IDEC Sport's #28 ORECA 07-Gibson) clocked the fastest time at the circuit in Le Castellet, France this afternoon. Sharing the first row with him is TDS Racing's ORECA, a regular in the World Endurance Championship (FIA WEC).

A first for IDEC Sport

IDEC Sport's #28 ORECA 07-Gibson really struck a blow securing the pole at the 4 Hours of Le Castellet scheduled for tomorrow (starting at noon, 11:00 a.m. in the U.K.). With a time of 1:41:194 clocked by 2014 ELMS champion Paul Loup Chatin, the car will start from the first row along with TDS Racing's #33 ORECA 07-Gibson (Mathieu Vaxivière). Three other ORECA 07-Gibsons follow: DragonSpeed's #21 (Ben Hanley), Racing Engineering's #24 (Norman Nato) and Duqueine Engineering's #29 (Nelson Panciatici). They are all in the same second.

Norma takes the pole in LMP3

Norma has kicked off the season in the best way possible. The French team of four-time WTCC world champion Yvan Muller's M Racing-YMR's #19 Norma M30 clinched pole position. David Droux placed ahead of devance RLR Msport's (Job Van Uitert) #15 Ligier JS P3 and a second Norma, the one fielded by Ultimate (#17) driven by Matthieu Lahaye who has participated four times in the 24 Hours of Le Mans, finishing second in LMP2 in 2010.

Porsche dominates the LMGTE session

In this class, Proton Competition's #88 Porsche 911 RSR clocked the best time, joined on the first row by WEC regular Gulf Racing's #86 Porsche. The first of the Ferrari 488 GTEs, the defending ELMS champion (and winner in the LMGTE Am class at the 2017 24 Hours of Le Mans) #66 entered by JMW Motorsport scored the third time!

One incident was of note: a red flag for United Autosports' #22 Ligier JS P217 driven by Bruno Senna.

The times can be seen HERE and our presentation of the round HERE.

The start at the 4 Hours of Le Castellet will be given at 12:00 p.m. (11:00 a.m.) in the U.K.) tomorrow.
