ELMS – A 41-car field expected at the 4 Hours of the Red Bull Ring

For its first visit to this circuit since 2018, the 4 Hours of the Red Bull Ring, second round of the 2021 European Le Mans Series, will boast an impressive starting grid.

Scheduled on Sunday 16 May, the 4 Hours of the Red Bull Ring in Austria will see 41 cars hit the track: 16 in LMP2, 16 in LMP3 and nine in LMGTE.

Winner at the 4 Hours of Barcelona on 18 April, Orlen Team WRT will face tough competition. After reaching the podium in Barcelona, Panis Racing and United Autosports will seek the win as will G-Drive Racing who won this race in 2018.

In LMP3, current championship leader Cool Racing will be looking for a second consecutive win in the class.

Six Ferraris, two Porsches and one Aston Martin will battle it out in LMGTE. Iron Lynx, with its #80 Ferrari F488 GTE Evo shared by Matteo Cressoni, Rino Mastronardi and Miguel Molin, is already looking like the team to beat. Also, a driver line-up change has occurred in this class: Cooper McNeil and Matt Campbell have been tapped to replace Jaxon Evans and Gianmaria Bruni at the wheel of Proton Competition's #77 Porsche, joining forces with 2020 class champion Christian Ried.
