ELMS – 41-car grid for the 4 Hours of Barcelona

The 4 Hours of Barcelona (20 July 2019) marks the resumption of the 2019 European Le Mans Series after the 24 Hours of Le Mans. The third round of the ELMS season will see a 41-strong field take to the track for an after-dark finish – the first in the championship’s history.

No fewer than 41 cars will compete in the third round of the 2019 European Le Mans Series season in Barcelona on Saturday 20 July. The 18-strong LMP2 field will lead the way, followed by 15 LMP3 entries and eight LMGTEs. For the first time in the championship’s history, the race will be run in the evening with the green flag going down at 18:30.

After its Monza triumph, the #26 Aurus 01-Gibson of G-Drive Racing tops the championship table coming into Barcelona, ahead of the Oreca 07-Gibsons of IDEC Sport (#28) and DragonSpeed (#21). Jean-Eric Vergne will be back with G-Drive Racing after missing the opening two rounds. Former Formula One test driver Danis Clos will partner Jakub Smiechowski and Adrien Tambay at the wheel of the #34 Ligier JS P217-Gibson fielded by Polish team Inter Europol Competition.

The 4 Hours of Barcelona grid will feature 17 teams who contested the 87th Le Mans 24 Hours last month. They include the #83 Ferrari 488 GTE EVO driven by the all-female Kessel Racing trio – Manuela Gostner, Rahel Frey and Michelle Gatting – backed by the FIA Women in Motorsport Commission.
