Bahrain – Rookie Test provisional list

On Sunday at Bahrain after the Bapco 8 Hours of Bahrain, from 10:00 to noon then from 13:00 to 16:00, track time is scheduled solely for rookies so they can test their mettle in endurance racing or advance into a new class, often with the support of more experienced drivers.

During the five hours of track time tomorrow at Bahrain, four drivers selected by the Promoter and Organizer of the FIA World Endurance Championship for their exemplary performance, racing skills and determination, will be offered a minimum of 30 laps behind the wheel of winner cars in the four classes at the end of the 2018-2019 Super Season as follows:

- Nyck de Vries, FIA Formula 2 winner, will take the wheel of a Toyota TS050 HYBRID with more than a 1,000 hp. The 24-year-old Dutch driver has represented Racing Team Nederland in the LMP2 class in the FIA WEC.

- Mikkel Jensen (EuroInternational in LMP3 in the ELMS) will drive the Alpine A470-Gibson of LMP2 winner Signatech Alpine.

- Job van Uitert (aged 20) is the third rookie selected. The start of his endurance racing career has been successful, competing in both the FIA WEC and the ELMS. The young up and coming LMP2 driver will try out the Porsche 911 RSR-19 of Porsche GT Team, the FIA GT World Champion.

- Vincent Abril (age 24) will drive the Porsche 911 RSR of Team Project 1, FIA Endurance LMGTE Am Trophy and 2019 24 Hours of Le Mans winner.

Teams in the FIA WEC will take the opportunity during the Rookie Test to evaluate potential drivers for coming seasons.
