American team United Autosports reached the top step on the overall and LMP3 class podiums at the 4 Hours of Buriram. The driver line-up at the wheel of the #22 Ligier JSP2 Nissan (Hanson-di Resta) held the lead in the provisional championship standings heading into this third round even without having won a race so far this season. The winning duo led 154 of the 158 laps in the round, with the 19 competitors racing under a two-lap full course yellow after an incident for the TF Sport team's Aston Martin Vintage driven by Johnny Mowlen.

The LMP3 class was won by United Autosports with the #2 Ligier JSP3 driven by Chris Buncombe.
The Car Guy team's #11 Ferrari 488 GT3 won the GT class despite a penalty incurred less than 10 minutes from the checkered flag and having to stave off the #88 Audi R8LMS driven by Jean-Karl Vernay. The final round of the season is set for 24 February in Sepang when the titles will be awarded and the invitations to the 2019 24 Hours of Le Mans will be given.
