The 2018-2019 season of the Asian Le Mans Series announced in early February is comprised of four races of four hours in four different countries. The opening round will take place in Shanghai, the second in Fuji (Japan), the third in Buriram (Thailand) and the final round in Sepang (Malaysia).
At the end of the season, four invitations to the 2019 24 Hours of Le Mans will be granted. Per usual, the winners in LMP2 and LMP3 will be invited to compete in the LMP2 class, and the winner in GT will participate in LMGTE Am. New this year: in LMP2, the winner of the "LMP2 amateur" trophy (driver line-ups composed solely of gentlemen-drivers) will also earn an invitation to Le Mans.
Several teams, including United Autosports and Eurasia Motorsport, confirmed this past May their intent to take part in the 2018-2019 season of the Asian Le Mans Series.
