For Season 2 of the Le Mans Esports Series, the professional sim racing teams came together - at least virtually - at the Sebring circuit this weekend. Players were challenged with piloting the Ford GT in its GTE configuration around Sebring, a bumpy, technical track. For the sprint race, the Fast Racers Forza team started from pole and Igor Rodrigues held onto first place, dominating the race from start to finish. 

Meanwhile, Shaun Arnold (Total Performance Racing) won the long race, which comprised 28 laps. He set off from 14th position but battled his way to second place in just a few laps, then made the most of an error by Kieran Millward (Alien Motorsport) to snatch the lead.

The hottest battle of the long race was between Tobin "Racerz”, Leigh racing for Lazarus, and Aurélien “Laige” Mallet from Red Bull Racing Esports. They went head-to-head for most of the race, and made contact several times. After the pit stops, Aurélien “Laige” Mallet moved into second place, ahead of Igor Rodrigues (winner of the first race) with Tobin "Racerz" Leigh eventually finishing fifth. 

This fourth round saw Total Performance Racing perform well in both races.

Meanwhile, the two Red Bull Racing Esports drivers Aurélien “Laige” Mallet and Alexandre “Asix” Arnou were consistent in the sprint and in the long race so they can also be satisfied with their weekend’s work. After the fourth pro round of the Le Mans Esports Series, they now lead the overall rankings.

Also worth noting: the Virtual Drivers by TX3 team has moved up from eighth to sixth place overall, having performed well in the last two races. This is crucial because the best six teams at the end of the season are to compete at the grand finale. The last race to count towards the final rankings will take place on 25 April.  

The Le Mans Esports Series Super Finale will take place alongside the 24 Hours of Le Mans next September.
