The two Ferrari 488 GTEs that AF Corse will field in the LMGTE Pro class for the 2018-2019 World Endurance Championship (WEC) Super Season conducted their shakedown a few days ago at the Ferrari circuit in Fiorano.
For the occasion, the cars sported their new livery in a different hue of metallic red. Also, the windshields of the two cars now boast the five colors of the driver and manufacturer titles won by Ferrari last year. The #51 will be shared by the two 2017 GTE world champions - James Calado and Alessandro Pier Guidi - while Sam Bird and Davide Rigon will share the #71. The third drivers for the 24 Hours of Le Mans have yet to be announced. A third 488 GTE (#52) will be entered in the 24 Hours of Le Mans (June 16-17), for which only Toni Vilander has been confirmed so far.
The two Ferraris will soon head to the south of France for the WEC Prologue at the Circuit Paul Ricard (April 6-7) before the kickoff of the season at Spa-Francorchamps in Belgium on Saturday, May 5th. To date, the Ferrari 488 GTE has won two world champion titles and 11 races.
