Toyota Gazoo Racing has continued to rack up the laps and collect precious data for the race. Meanwhile, the #3 Rebellion R13–Gibson fielded by Rebellion Racing has managed to slip in between the two TS050 Hybrids with a time of 3:19.680. The time puts the car just six-tenths of a second behind the #8 Toyota’s benchmark.
The hour began under safety car after the #51 Ferrari 488 GTE EVO of AF Corse left the track after Tertre Rouge. This car had clocked the 12th fastest time in LMGTE Pro (3:54.672).
At 16:42, Egor Orudzhev at the wheel of Russian outfit SMP Racing’s #17 BR1–AER went off at Indianapolis. Fortunately, the car suffered no great damage in the incident.
Slightly earlier, Nathanael Berthon put the #31 Oreca 07–Gibson of American team DragonSpeed at the top of the LMP2 standings with a time of 3:27.228. A faster time than the mark set by Nelson Panciatici last year in the Alpine A470–Gibson (3:28.146).
The Porsche GT Team is on the attack! Gianmaria Bruni (#91 Porsche 911 RSR) banked the best time in class in 3:52.647, dislodging the #67 Ford GT of Ford Chip Ganassi Team UK.
