So your dream will come true in a few days' time when you driver in the 24 Hours of Le Mans. How are you feeling?

“I’ve been thinking about it all the time – not just these last few days but for the whole year [laughs]! Obviously I’m very excited. There is just one word to describe how you attack this and that is preparation. Preparation is everything. Driving at Le Mans for the first time is obviously going to be a challenge. I'm aware of that. The only thing we can do is watch a lot of videos, work with the simulators and learn the track as best you can. We have one Test Day which helps. But I guess the first time, you only really learn the track at the race because you don’t get many laps in before. And those 13 kilometres are really long!"

What are your expectations for the race?

“We’ll do the best we can, I’m sure we'll have a good run and hopefully we can fight for the podium. I’m coming with the intention of doing the best job I can, and the result will automatically occur. If it’s a podium, good, if it’s a win, even better, if it’s not, well, we’ll have done the best we can. I just hope that 2016 will not be my only attempt at the 24 Hours of Le Mans.”

Your teammate Julien Canal is a local driver and he’ll no doubt be able to help you...

"Yes, I know! I'm fortunate to have such a good teammate and he’s from Le Mans. Ironically I lived in Le Mans before, when I drove for Dams many years ago [he competed in the Formula Renault European Championship in 2004]. But I never raced at Le Mans, not even on the Bugatti Circuit. I only know the go-kart track!”
