24 Hours of Le Mans – Horst Felbermayr, Sr. has passed away

It is with deep sadness the Automobile Club de l'Ouest learned today of the loss of Horst Felbermayr, Sr. at the age of 75.

A key figure in the history of the Proton Competition team, a major competitor in LMGTE at the 24 Hours of Le Mans and in various ACO endurance championships, Horst Felbermayr, Sr. passed way yesterday at the age of 75. Born on 19 February 1945, the Austrian was also a driver who took the start in the 24 Hours of Le Mans several times, namely in 2005, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2011, always at the wheel of a Porsche 911 or 997, including with his son Horst Felbermayr, Jr. His best result was 23rd place overall.

The l'Automobile Club de l'Ouest extends its sincerest condolences to Horst Felbermayr, Sr.'s family and loved ones.
