24 Hours of Le Mans – Corvette Racing unveils the new C8.R

Corvette Racing has unveiled the new C8.R it will be fielding for the first time at next year’s 24 Hours of Daytona as part of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship.

The C8.R was based on the new Corvette Stingray presented back in July and will be racing in LMGTE Pro under the Corvette Racing banner at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in addition to the IMSA competition. The mid-engine C8 is a break from the front engine design of its predecessors.
The #4 sports a silver livery inspired by Corvettes of the past, the 1973 Aerovette and the 1959 Stingray Racer. Meanwhile, the yellow hues of the #3 sister car are in keeping with Corvette tradition, the hints of silver a nod to the glittering success of the GTLMs in the past two decades.

The new GT will line up on the grid of the 24 Hours of Daytona on 25–26 January 2020 for its maiden race. Corvette Racing also aims to be at the 24 Hours of Le Mans on 13–14 June 2020.
