24 Hours of Le Mans - As popular as ever in 2019

The 2019 24 Hours of Le Mans drew a crowd of 252,500. At the circuit, race organiser the Automobile Club de l’Ouest had set up new facilities for spectators.

After the stormy weather at scrutineering the weather was much kinder at the end of the week and the 252,500-strong crowd took advantage of the trackside attractions: concerts, funfair, fan zone, World Cup football on the big screens, and much more. This year some changes were made to improve the race experience for spectators.

There was more free parking and improved road traffic control which reduced journey times to and from the circuit considerably, for the practice and qualifying sessions and the race itself. Bigger camping areas compared to last year – when heavy rain complicated matters – meant those who stayed at the circuit could do so in more comfort.

The outcome was a huge, happy crowd to salute the race winners.
