24h Motos
The Le Mans 24H Motos is scheduled to take place on 17–18 April 2021. Teams wishing to take part in this legendary motorcycle endurance race can submit their applications from Thursday 28 January 2021.
Preparations are underway for the 44th running of the 24H Motos, scheduled next April. Applications for the event that combines mechanical prowess, sporting excellence and human endeavour will open on Thursday 28 January and close on Thursday 4 March 2021.
The 60-strong entry list will be revealed shortly afterwards at a virtual press conference* live from the Bugatti circuit.
The 24H Motos pre-test will take place on 30-31 March 2021. These two days of free practice are not mandatory but are a chance for teams to prepare for the race
The 24H Motos bill will also feature three support races – the FIM Sidecar World Championship, the International Bridgestone Handy Race and the ProClassic championship.
Cancelled this year due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the FIM Sidecar World Championship will be back at the Bugatti. The spectacular race is always a firm favourite with the fans. The International Bridgestone Handy Race was founded in 2017 by Stéphane Paulus (Handi Free Riders) and Emiliano Malagoli (Di. Di. Diversamente Disabili) under the guidance of the Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme (FIM) and the Fédération Française de Motocyclisme (FFM). The race is open to motorcyclists with various disabilities who enjoy the chance to accomplish physical and sporting objectives. Finally, the ProClassic championship brings together neo-modern machines from the 600 Supersport and Superbike categories for a trip down memory lane.
The programme reverts to a similar format to the 2019 race. The teams will take possession of the Bugatti paddock on Monday 12 April 2021 before a day of private testing on the Tuesday. The scrutineering procedures and the various briefings for riders and team managers will be held on Wednesday 14 April. Free practice, night practice and qualifying will take place on the Thursday and Friday. At midday on Saturday 17 April, the French flag will be brandished to signal the start of the 2021 24H Motos. This timing is the most suitable in a highly competitive environment in terms of sporting events. It also offers the advantage of drastically reducing costs and logistic constraints for teams who will be able to return to their bases on the Sunday evening.
The 44th 24H Motos will be the opening round of the FIM Endurance World Championship season.
