2018 24 Hours of Le Mans - The IMSA selects its teams

Seven teams are now officially recipients of an invitation to participate in the qualifying sessions for the 2018 24 Hours of Le Mans. These invitations are the fruit of the 2017 results from the 24 Hours of Le Mans, and the European Le Mans Series and Michelin GT3 Le Mans Cup championships.

Two other invitations are added to this list with the IMSA designation of teams entered in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship.

As follows:

  • JDC-Miller Motorsports (Jim Trueman Award)
  • Keating Motorsports (Bob Akin Award)

The last four invitations to participate in the 2018 24 Hours of Le Mans will be granted at the end of the 2017/2018 season of the Asian Le Mans Series on February 4, 2018 to the teams that win the LMP2, LMP3 and GT classes, as well as the runner-up in GT.

Note:

Two invitations for:

  • JMW Motorsport: winner at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in the LM GTE Am class and winner in the European Le Mans Series in the LM GTE class; invitation in LMGTE Am and invitation in LMGTE Pro or Am.

One invitation for:

  • Jackie Chan DC Racing: winner at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in the LMP2 class; invitation in LMP2.
  • Aston Martin Racing: winner at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in the LMGTE Pro class; invitation in LMGTE Pro.
  • G-Drive Racing: winner in the European Le Mans Series in the LMP2 class; invitation in LMP2.
  • TF Sport: second in the European Le Mans Series in the LMGTE class; invitation in LMGTE Pro or Am.
  • United Autosports: winner in the European Le Mans Series in the LMP3 class; invitation in LMP2.
  • Ebimotors: winner in the Michelin GT3 Le Mans Cup; invitation in LMGTE Am.
  • JDC-Miller Motorsports: selected by the IMSA for the WeatherTech SportsCar Championship; invitation in LMP2.
  • Keating Motorsports: selected by the IMSA for the WeatherTech SportsCar Championship; invitation in LMGTE Am.
