2018 24 Hours of Le Mans - Sunday 10 and Monday 11 June: Scrutineering

Scrutineering, a prerequisite for the 60 competitors of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, will take place in downtown Le Mans once again. These technical and administrative checks are the perfect opportunity for fans to get ever so close to their favorite drivers and cars.

Scheduled on Sunday 10 June and Monday 11 June this year are the traditional technical and administrative checks known collectively as Scrutineering. During those two days, the Place de la République in downtown Le Mans will be at fever pitch! 24 Hours of Le Mans fans always flock in record numbers to catch a glimpse of the drivers and their cars. For the lucky and the brave, it's the perfect time to try and get an autograph or a souvenir photo with a driver.

Note: Spectators still on-site on Monday at 6:00 p.m. will be able to attend the ceremony of the previous year's winners immortalizing their handprints on the customary bronze plaque which is then embedded in the ground in the heart of the city. Open to all, this event attracts a crowd at the Place Saint-Nicolas as it's a wonderful chance to get within arm's reach of last year's winners!

Scrutineering Schedule: Sunday 10 June from 2:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and Monday 11 June from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. (all local times) at the Place de la République in downtown Le Mans. Admission is free.
