WEC - Schedule for the 6 Hours of Nürburgring

Last year’s 6 Hours of Nürburgring was at the end of August, but this year the iconic race will be at the end of July. Competitors and the many spectators who flock to the circuit are gearing up for three days of track action.

The weather in the Eifel mountains is temperamental and a last-minute change could wrong-foot competitors, just like the flurry of snow at Silverstone this April. Storms are forecast for Friday, there is a 90% chance of rain on Saturday and showers expected on Sunday. Once the usual briefs are over, teams will have the difficult task of deciding which tyres to use for the 90-minute free practice session at midday on Friday.

The second 90-minute session is scheduled for 16:30 and there will be a last 60-minute practice session at 09:15 on Saturday before the qualifiers in the afternoon. There are two qualifying sessions of 20 minutes each. The LM GTE and GTC classes kick off at 14:15, followed by LM P1 and LM P2 at 14:45.

There is no warm-up on Sunday morning. The pit straight will be open to the public between 09:00 and 10:30 and drivers will sign autographs from 10:00 to 10:30. Later in the morning, cars will take their places on the grid ready for the start of the 6 Hours of Nürburgring at 13:00.
