WEC - Oliver Jarvis (Oreca) gives pointers to his young teammate (video)

Oliver Jarvis serves as a mentor to his teammates in the Jackie Chan DC Racing team. The former official Audi driver, set to share the wheel of the #38 Oreca 07-Gibson with Ho-Pin Tung and Thomas Laurent, has competed in two full seasons of the World Endurance Championship (FIA WEC) in the LMP1 class, and has participated six times in the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

In this video, the British driver gives rather particular advice to his young teammate, Thomas Laurent. The French driver is in good hands with Oliver Jarvis who has claimed the third step on the podium three times at the 24 Hours of Le Mans (2012, 2013 and 2016).

Thomas Laurent is experiencing a meteoric rise. Within less than two years, he has become World 125 KZ2 Karting Champion (at Le Mans) and won Road To Le Mans as a curtain-raiser to the 24 Hours. Since those accomplishments, he has also won the closing round of the European Le Mans Series in the LMP3 class (Estoril, Portugal) and competed in the Asian Le Mans Series (seventh in the Drivers standings with a win at Buriram, Thailand). He will debut at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in June.

The momentum continues thanks to Oliver Jarvis' coaching: the two men, along with Ho-Pin Tung, won the 6 Hours of Silverstone in the LMP2 class, the first round of the 2017 World Endurance Championship (FIA WEC), season a couple of weeks ago.

The next round, the WEC 6 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps, will take place on Saturday, May 6th in Belgium as the final rehearsal before the 24 Hours of Le Mans on June 17th and 18th.
