Marilyne Gaigeot was "bitten by the bug" when she was just a little girl. Her passion for cars came from her father, and she was so young she doesn't even remember her first visit to the circuit. Then, as the years went by, there was karting: her brother and friends competed. She joined the ACO and focused on volunteering, first in karting, helping teams register, taking charge of restorations and more. Later, to continue following her driver friends, she moved on to the racing cars. She started as a greeter, then advanced to the famous Info booths. Famous? Yes, because the little team is so on point, the atmosphere is so harmonious, it is very rare indeed that a volunteer spot opens up.

What is it all about? Gathering, namely for the press, information transmitted by the ground team to be deciphered in the pits. "Three teams actually: one for race info, one for the ACO Île-de-France and one for ESCAM/ISCRA which changes every year, those are the new faces," she explains. Among them are old friends, some only seen during races and others seen more frequently. The Info booths seem to be at the center of a happy Franco-Belgian allegiance that reunites as much at Le Mans as it does at Spa. In short, they have fun, but it's still serious. "We are mainly there to work, though a good atmosphere is an essential ingredient. That's what volunteering is all about."

To avoid letting her longstanding passion infringe upon her family life, Marilyne Gaigeot has found a great balance: she shares it with her husband, Dominique, who works with the ACO – as a volunteer as well – in pit management. "This way, instead of becoming a problem between us, it brings us together."
