The official Porsche 911 of the FIA WEC and 24 Hours of Le Mans plays top model!

Porsche conducted a photo shoot with the new Porsche 911 RSR to unveil the new livery of the two cars entered by the official team in the LM GTE Pro class of the World Endurance Championship (FIA WEC) and the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

This year Porsche is officially back in the LM GTE Pro class after a year's absence which was in no way a sabbatical. The German manufacturer developed the new 911 RSR, now equipped with a central engine and designed to counter the attacks of Aston Martin, Ferrari and Ford in the quest for the FIA GTE Manufacturers title.

Last year, with the exception of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, where two official Porsches were at the start (double retirement), only the 911 entered by private team Dempsey-Proton Racing represented the German marque after it swept all the trophies in 2015 in the World Endurance Championship (FIA WEC).

Like its direct rivals in the LM GTE Pro class, Porsche entered two 911s for the entire season, but will have to face two Ford GTs and an extra Ferrari in the 24 Hours of Le Mans, as well as two Chevrolet Corvettes, all from the U.S.
